"Dylan"

Here's some food for thought related to the recent health care debate (and I promise not to talk politics): if the average sodium intake fell to the recommended level of 2,300 mg per day, there would be 11 million fewer cases of high blood pressure each year. The costs of treating high blood pressure and related heart disease and strokes would fall by $18 billion. This is why an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, I guess...

What's rx for the kb's?

Not to change the subject from nutrition related medical conditions; but if anyone wants to carpool on Saturday for the Biddle Test, I will be at the gym at 6:45 am and leaving at 7:00 am.

There's no rx. It's the heaviest weight that you can do safely :)

Yesterday was supposed to be my last workout this week, but I couldn't resist... "Dylan" = 5:11 (24kg, standard sit-ups)

Okay, NOW the rest of my week will be active recovery =)

re: the post. Interesting tidbit Jenn... I wonder what the figures would be if the average sugar intake was also dramatically reduced.

It's quite obvious that a primary emphasis on preventive TLC (Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes) models of health care would be more effective than anything else... the question is: how do we get the "average American" to live a healthy lifestyle? Unfortunately (based on track record) I don't think our government does a very good job of achieving this... I think instead there should be a federally-funded project to clone Julie so multiple versions of her can run all over telling people to "get off the crack!"

Damnit Matt! You beast! My heaviest KB is 20kg at home (44#), so I couldn't pass up a good opportunity to use it and the abmat. 5:48.

Decrease sugar intake? What are you trying to do, destroy the economy?!?

I wanted to try the 53# and see if I could break 5 min., so I came in at 6 too. Short on abmats, so I did knees-to-elbows instead. Missed it by that much.
