WOD August 28, 2008

30 Clean & Jerks for time (M:135#; W:85#).
This is one of those deceiving workouts that makes you go, "Oh, that's not that bad." Then, when you are midway through, you begin to realize that 30 is actually a pretty big number. In the words of John Mustafa, "Curse you Crossfit, I love you!"
14 pushups today, por favor. And where are you people, anyway? You know you need to be posting in order to get a T-shirt, right?
Oh, and: 10 am. Saturday, August 30. Tustin school. Be there, or be lame.
Crossfit...the next olympic sport?

Some of the things I can no longer do thanks to little Michael and his situp/back extension regime: laugh, cough, sneeze, lie in bed, get out of bed, and walk upright.

Things I can do: train for the beer drinking contest on Saturday.

Did 13 PUs yesterday and 14 this morning.

Woke up. Back was tight and stiff. Thought about just sleeping in. Could hear Dr. Jenn and Jessica calling me names. Must see psychiatrist about voices in head.

Hit the 9 am ... at 10 am. Did my warm up and just kept going with the push ups - 14 in addition to the warm up - then on to the clean and jerk.

First 5: it's do-able.

Ten: %&^! I've got 20 more to go!

After 15, there's light at the end of the tunnel.

At 20, he stops referring to himself in the first person, as it is too painful to acknowledge humanity. He may as well just knock out that last ten.

At 25, he's a machine, and he will not stop!

At 30 (8:09), I'm done, I'm back to normal, and I'm looking for the person who proposed this $%^#amned workout! >:-( Threw in 50 situps on the GHD just to work out my anger (that's healthy, isn't it doc?)

Love IT!!! IT loves YOU!!!

(Unsolicited advice: Use the rubber weights and drop the weight after the jerk, but keep an eye on the collars, because they can pop unlocked.)

I did my 14 for today. 1 thru 13 were more than covered with the spectacular "Freddie" workout. I still haven't decided who needs to die first, Michael or Freddie. Because of "Michael" I cry when I sneeze. "Freddie" made me look forward to the 800m run, just so I wouldn't have to do wallball anymore. And that's just wrong!

Kireith, you kill me. As long as you are still able to eat a double-double, you're fine. Who needs to walk upright, anyway? And I love John's play-by-plays, although I think it's distinctly unhealthy to work out your anger doing GHD situps. I recommend Kireith's regimen of In-n-Out burgers to help decrease your aggression.

We are keeping up with the Rx amount, except for Dave, he's doing double the amount on the perfect push up. Can he keep going at this rate--probably. Mustafa--love your comments!!

I am very glad to see everybody keeping up with the pushups.
Remember to send us your pictures while doing your push ups....in unusual places....
