R/M/S

Ah, rest/skills/make-up day. A great day to a) rest (hey- you can come in and lay on the mats while others grind out the WOD's if you want to), b) work on those darn [insert exercise here] that you just can't seem to get the hang of, or c) make up a WOD from this week. Generally speaking, go for one of the more challenging WOD's (see: Thursday).
And, mudrunners- good luck on Sunday!
PS- Don't forget your pushups!

Got 93 out of the way; decided to just go for 100. To quote Jason A. "why not?" Relative rest day for me. But you? Nah, gone on out there and win WOD for the Gipper!

Word verif.: "reamm." What's with the extra "m"? Makes it seem like someone's enjoying it.

Been keeping up, just have not posted. It will seem weird not doing daily push-ups, may do them anyway, but definitely not 100 :)

Sunday morning: went to bed at a decent hour. Body woke up at about 5:30am; mind, still somewhere in the Himalayas hunting heffalumps and giant weasels (hey: I was at a kid's b-day party, so I can't be held accountable for weird night imagery). Have you ever seen what a heffalump can do to a Hello Kitty? It's not a pretty sight.

Air raid siren! The sharp, stabbing staccato is relentless. It gets louder ... and louder ... and ... it's 6:45am. Hit the alarm off-switch. Knocked out my 94 and, in a supreme act of irony, took a shower. We're going to get muddy today!!!!! (to be continued.)

It's a long one, so some people (Josh!) might want to skip it.

Here's mud in your eye: literally! Not doing the mud run before is one of the saddest mysteries I know: that was hard and FUN!

Andy & wife; Kim & Husband JD; Ray & wife Claudia & Frank; Steven; Lizen, Andrea; Victoria; Jason A.; yours truly, and various friends (Leslie, Josephine & Lizzy) got dirty ... I mean filthy muddy! ... over a 5k course that screamed "CrossFit!" 3.1 miles; 15 thick mud pits - various lengths/depths; a 500 foot, 50° hill I dub, simply, the *&^$%r@#*&%r; followed by "the mud enema" -- a steep decline where you had no choice but to slide down about 100 feet on your butt (Jason did a total Superman slide on his chest instead and took out a few slackers on the bottom - GO JASON!). Best 3+ mile run I've ever done.

Team Kim rocked! Kim, JD, Lizen and me, we totally KICKED A** and left all those other teams in the dust. (Why team Jason was waiting for us at the finish is still a mystery to me.) Major love to my peeps! For everyone who could not make it, I sympathetically say YOU MISSED OUT, AND YOU NEED TO CALENDAR THIS ONE FOR NEXT YEAR!!!!

On the more informative side, there are interesting things you learn about people on long drives. Here's what I found out:

Jason A. used to be a Chippendale's dancer.
Andrea is an international hand model.
Victoria made a real car out of milk cartons.
Steven used to lead a prison gang.
Kim was "Gymmie Spice" of the Spice Girls.
Andy gets mistaken for James Caan - a lot!
Ray translated the Dead Sea scrolls.
Lizen invented break dancing.
Me? I was too busy listening with my jaw dropped to tell them how I gave Imi the idea for Krav Maga!

Thanks Kim for coordinating an absolutely wonderful day!!!!!!!!!! Now, back to our regularly scheduled program. ;-)
