Front Squat 3-3-3-3-3
5050 Club- 76-76-76
Don't miss the heavy days! Go heavy or go home :)
Are you keeping track of your workouts? No? Then how the heck do you know if you're improving? Put Crossfit to the test- see if your weights are going up and your times are going down.
Important things to keep an eye on:
1. Sign up for the Kettlebell seminar. You can now pay via paypal right on the blog- see that button over there on the right? Click it and sign up. Much like Crossfit (which includes KB training), KB experts note that life does not respect the difference in your training. Think how many daily activities don't just include running (you're often running while carrying something) or just include lifting (because you have to continue moving after you lift something, don't you?). Kettlebells are an important part of a well-rounded training regimen that is performance based, such as ours. And, PS, for all of you guys who think they're experts because you've done Helen a few times, boy, are you wrong... Like Crossfit, KB takes quite awhile to become proficient at. This seminar will give you a good base from which to start.
2. The Grace Challenge date has changed to accommodate the KB seminar- Grace will now be held on July 23 at 10 am in Long Beach.
3. Check out the poll on the right hand side of the blog. And don't bother voting 3600 times from the same computer to make sure your time "wins;" I can see that in the breakdown...
4. I'm waiting on pics of the Tustin shredder so I can post them :)

Dear "Anonymous,"

Ruth and I will be gone the next two months, so no CrossFit unfortunately, except for whatever high-intensity circuits I can dream up with whatever equipment is available to me at CTLT at Fort Carson in August.

Anyway, my lifting sucks, but I can say for certain my run times have been dropping! I run 800 or 400m repeats every week. I just ran 4 400s today with a minute rest between and stayed under 75 seconds for all of them. That 5:00 mile is within sight!

Also, during the time trials for the pull ups, I managed to do 33 before my first rest. That's the most I've ever done consecutively. Previous best was 27.

See you guys in September.

I don't know why my dad thought it was appropriate to send me this link, but I know you all will appreciate the amazing strength of these women:

(***There's no nudity)

Maybe crossfit could team up with the US Pole Dancing Federation to create new WODs?

Adam!- that is AWESOME!!!!!!!! I love to hear success stories like that- good for you, you earned the improvement with lots of blood and sweat (and maybe some puke and tears too :)
Looking forward to your return,
Jenn

Hey LJ, what a great link that was. after all links that moose put up there that was awesome. Give your dad a high five. Those girls maybe good at the pole but can they do murph under a hour? i dont think so. Now i think Dr.Jenn needs to a pole in the gym now so we can combine them. Call one of the girls from this video to do a seminar

FYI for those who fall or have fallen behind the best strategy we found was to do 1 set in the morning and 1 set at night.

I can't see the video- but if it's inappropriate will someone please let me know... from the comments I'm tempted to take it down just for the purposes of erring on the side of caution, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt 'til someone says otherwise.

Is the pole, er, poll for Long Beach or Tustin?

kettle bell seminar signed up for and PAID. can't wait!

Jenn,
The women in Ms Fitness are more scantily clad than the women in the pole dancing video. What incredible core strength they have, seem to defy gravity on that pole.

ps...

I would like to bring my fiance in for her first workout tonight but can't get a hold of anybody (she did send an email last week). would it be ok tonight?

Paul-
That's so weird- where did she send an email?? You can always email me at my address (see above). Here's the deal-- we're no longer doing an intro class, we've moved to private intros. However, we do allow members to bring friends (or fiances) to try a class. The thing is, you'll act kind of as her ambassador- after she signs a waiver you'll explain the warmup to her (though of course Jesse will be available for coaching) and kind of the class routine. She'll do the regular WOD (scaled as needed, as always). After, she'll have the option to schedule a private intro (to have one of us explain Crossfit philosophy to her, explain our training at 360, and do a baseline workout), or, if she's hooked (and who wouldn't be, really ;), she can sign up. Let me know if you need anything else.
