July 1, 2009

4 rounds for time:
200 m sprint
25 abmat situps
5050- 78-78-78
Reminder: we are closed on Saturday, July 4. Go eat some barbeque, rest, relax, recover, and enjoy yourselves!!!
And, here's a question- currently 19 people (I haven't double checked to see if it's just Annemarie voting 19 times ;) have voted that they want a 530 am class... yet that class has dropped off considerably lately... where are you people?

I voted for 5:30 though I haven't shown much recently... some days it simply comes down to laziness/going to bed too late, but other days I fear the warmup + skill work + WOD will take too long for me to get to work on time... I'd have to leave Cherry by ~6:10.

I too voted for 5:30am however, I have no excuses I'm just simply lazy! Sorry, 5:30 crew I'll pick up my game.

I voted for 6:30a. Won't need a class that early til the end of the year when my work sched gets all crazy. 6:30 seems a bit less painful than 5:30.

Still working. No crossfit for me tonight -Booooo!!

Oh well, I'll just 5050 it up when I get home.

Looks like we have some future Olympians on our hands. Michael Johnson's world record time for the 400 meter is 43.18 and the tenth fastest is a 44 sec.... 44sec. 400 meter X 4 = 176 sec + 100 sit ups in 124 sec. = 5 minutes. I think Tustin needs to check their 400 meter length. Love the times but really...

Anonymous said...

it was 4 x 200m sprints. they're good.

Anonymous said...

Um, it's a 200M sprint. But those times are fast. I've always assumed the distances at the SH gym are approx anyway.

It is very rude not to put your name on a post.
And please note that it was 4 200 meter runs, not 400 meter runs.
I'm not exactly sure why you are calling out Tustin in particular, because some of the Long Beach times are faster, but I think your post is inappropriate. I would delete it, but I am leaving it up for everyone to see as an example of how not to behave on a blog.

Side note: actually the distances have been measured; the only exception being when we do the 400 m to the signal and back in Long Beach- that's approximate.

If I could also just add, please feel free to contact me directly at jennifer@crossfit360.com if you have any questions about the way we time, distances, etc. As Steven pointed out to me, this is our responsibility, not the students'. Please don't make sarcastic comments about them; it really pisses me off (in case anyone can't tell). You all work very, very hard, and I won't accept anyone being snide toward any of you (even if it is one of you!)

Just for the record, even though the post at issue involved some erroneous computational analysis -- a favored pastime of mine (though not the "erroneous" part) -- it wasn't me. If "I" were callin out Tustin, you can be sure I'd sign my name to it and go kick their WOD butts personally (unless they beat me; and in that case it just wouldn't countsies).

I'm coming to get you Tustin!!!!! (or not. Depends on whether you're looking ...)

All I know is when Im trying to move these stubby tree trunks of mine on the 400M, I get to the 200 mark and think, "damn, now I gotta go back",,,,every time. And when I run the 800M, I feel like Forest, and my beard grows by the time I get back into the building,,,,on the first round.

Occasionally I hear this WHOOSH and feel a gust blow me off track,,,,,and I realize Luis just went by me. Whats cool is he cheers me on yelling, "Good.....something or other.. His voice fades after that.

I love your fire and support for us Jenn! I'll refrain from saying things to Mr. or Ms anonymous that I would like to say to keep the spirit positive. But if the doubting Thomas would like to come to Tustin and work out with the people there and see first hand, I would pay for their workout if their membership doesn't include both gyms. We all work very hard (Tustin and Long Beach), whether posting times of 5 minutes or 12.

(sorry to flagellate a deceases equine!!)
