WOD September 12, 2008

Coretastic!
(I feel the need to put an exclamation point afterwards).
Complete as many knees to elbows, hollow rocks, Abmat sit-ups, back extensions, GHD sit-ups and supermans as you can in 30 minutes. The catch: you must have an equal amount of reps done for each exercise at the end of 30 minutes.
You thought Coretastic was hard the last time we did it? Ha! We didn't have GHD machines then...
Oh, and: You can always do Murph or Mini Murph, if you missed them yesterday. Seriously. Did you see how awesome people felt after they completed it?! Don't you wanna get some?
Last, but most important: SIGN UP FOR FGB III. For details, talk to one of us or see the post on September 9.
To compete, all participants must complete each of the following:
1. Register with Crossfit360 by Wednesday, September 24, 2008.
2. Register with Athletes for a Cure at http://athletes.kintera.org/crossfit08 by Wednesday, September 24, 2008.
3. Raise $150 or more in pledges by 5 pm PDT on Saturday, September 27, 2008.
PS- 29 pushups.
PPS- I'll be dedicating the next few pics/posts to the August workout. Check out Jason's team: they may not have won, but they sure look good, don't they? Nice job guys.

Alright, so now I KNOW you guys are checking the blog. Wanna know how? I originally put that this was the winning team (I actually wanted to mess with you guys a little bit)- and I got an insane number of comments, texts, emails, etc. correcting me. So since you ARE checking the blog, that means you KNOW you should be signed up for FGB. So do it already!!!

29 done..deeanna quit the push up club due to murph

Clearly Jason H is still suffering from the stroke he suffered during Murph. I have not and will not quit the push up club. I won't be joining any Murph clubs, but I am still an active member of the pushup club.

I went to have a "Coretastic" time this morning, thinking there would be no "Core-elation" to yesterday's "Core-poral" workout, thankful that my shredded palms could heal. "Core-guessing" that I needed some help with the hands during warm-up, I taped them (I know, I know: it's tough maintaining a stylistic conceit, especially when you have to start everything with "core"). Not to be disappointed, there was a "Core-nucopia" of exercises on today's plate (there! Are you happy?!).

The funny part (if you're a sadist) is that Jason said he was ready to start the clock, and there I was in the middle of the floor saying "alright, I'm ready." I'm looking at him like "What are you 'Core-doing' man? Start the clock!" And he's looking at me like "This is gonna be good: he thinks he's going to do knee-to-elbow in mid air. Freakin' Crossfit Chris Angel."

Suddenly I realize why he's pointing at the pull-up bars: I was thinking the first exercise was knee-ups where you just jump in place and bring your knees up to your chest! My shredded hands immediately understood, and like stricken with stigmata, they began to bleed on their own (nothing religious here: I think they were just crying). Thank God that I wrapped my hands!

For a second I was feeling like taking a big "Core-d" and making a "Core-set" to go around that high pull-up bar and just end it all. But thanks to Jason, who "Core-sed" me out whenever I slowed down, I got through 8 sets of 12 reps for each of the 6 exercises (I thought it was 7, but big J said it was 8 and he was keeping "s-Core"). In the end, it was "Core-worth it."

So what's up for the Ladies' Man this weekend? A "Core-vette," thum "Core-voithier," oh, and of "Core-th," ... a lady.

29 done!

29 are done because push-ups are fun!

If your hands were destroyed, darlin', you could have just omitted the knees to elbows. We're not that mean. Well, apparently Jason is. I'll protect you Mustafa :)

Great job today guys--corework was a nice break from, well, everything that was put through the ringer yesterday. Spread the word about FGB III and sign up!

On another note.
Mustafa: I don't know where you come up with this stuff, but I like it. :)

Well today was the best I've felt in days, and with the added energy I had from listening to the newly released Metallica album, I thought I'd try a little backyard CrossFit.

"Keith"

25 double unders
25 box jumps 20"
25 pushups
25 thrusters 75#
25 SDHP 75#
25 pushups
25 box jumps 20"
25 double unders

1st round 10:44
5 min. rest
2nd round 15:09

The times are quite sad I know, but in my defense, I did take almost 2 weeks off. I know Lewis could put on a 20# vest and then jump on Jason A.'s back, and he could probably still do a round of this in under 5 minutes.

Oh well, on to round 3--that's right, Guinness baby. Ah yeah!

I think I pulled a muscle just reading this workout. I'm also still too sore to move after Murph. Great job my Tustonians! Especially Xochitl! Not only did she keep up with the guys, but she left most of them in the dust!

Xochitl - 8
George - 7
Garth - 6
Johnny - 7
