WOD September 15, 2008

For the first round, perform 5 push-ups/10 sit-ups/15 squats. In every subsequent round, add one rep to each exercise (i.e: round 2 would be 6/11/16, round 3 would be 7/12/17, etc.). Complete as many rounds as you can in 20 minutes. Oh and guys- we should all be trying to make our squats look like Jolie's (pictured here).
If you're working out with us today, no need to do the 32 pushups in addition to the workout (unless you don't make it to 32 to in your 20 minute span, of course). Otherwise- it's the big 3-2.
Congrats to Steven who is now Level 1 Certified.
And- I know this is last minute but I'll be doing an impromptu lift seminar tonight in Signal Hill at 530. If you can make it, great! If not- the next one is this coming Saturday at 10 am in Tustin.
PS- FGB!!!

Is it just me, or do many of the CrossFit seminar photos look like fundamentalist revival meetings?

Drink the Kool-Aid: I did, and it's delicious!

This sounds like it won't hurt at all!!!!!!

Of course I could be wrong.

ooooooooo... sounds good. And yes John... the meetings are kind of creepy

I don't think the meetings are creepy. My favorite part is when Greg Glassman (founder of Crossfit) lays hands and people fall to the ground in pseudo-seizure. All this, of course, while they make us do 300 med ball cleans and correct our form with yard sticks. And discuss the importance of eating nothing but egg whites and broccoli.
Anyone else wanna get certified?

32 done for fun, waiting for crossfit

Mustafa do you know about these types of meetings from personal experience?

Couldn't make crossfit this morn -- too busy speaking in tongues and handling serpents (hey! No wisecracks!) -- so I'm going this eve. Consequently, I knocked out my 32 as a penance.

Moose, you are asking for a completely inappropriate comment... i'll just wait and let someone else make it for me.

That's the first time I've ever done 32 pushups without stopping.

32 fun pushups

Mustafa said...

(OK, unfortunate choice of words.)

I got through 12 and 2/3 rounds (plus 2 squats). How many pushups, situps, squats is that?

161 - pushups
231 - situps
275 - squats

It's amazing what you can make your body do if you break the exercises into seemingly small chunks! That's 203 pushups today!

32 plus Crossfit. If you wake up from a dream about doing pushups only to realize your dreaming about dreaming about pushups, and then you wake up and you're doing pushups, do you have a problem?

Hey hey. So taking a three day rest after Murph last week--my first in nearly two months--makes me realize just how much of a difference it makes to KEEP GOING. I'm extra sore from today's workout, and I know that I wouldn't feel nearly as tight if I hadn't given my muscles time to tighten back up. Keep up with the three day on/one day off schedule as much as you can (make sure not to do more than three CrossFit days in a row though!! No overtraining allowed) :).

Go Tustin!
