WOD October 14, 2008


350 squats for time.
+61 pushups.
Hey, 350 is better than 500. The idea here, though, is to actually do proper squats (not top-halves or bottom-halves). Since the number is lower, your form should be better.

Wait a sec... we do engage in ritualistic, torturous behavior. Hey. It's a great article, albeit a bit slanted, but it's funny and it gives a little about the history of Crossfit and its development.
Looking forward to seeing everybody at the gym! Nice job Jason!!!

I read the New York Times article about Crossfit. Even though it kind of coddles some critics, it still highlights the impressive set of CrossFit trainees and its growing appeal. Of the criticism I would say that in the three years since the article first appeared, that - if they didn't do it then, they are doing it now - CrossFit trainers are very careful to instruct people as to proper form. I know our people do: I get an earful everyday about form!

Why is it that CrossFit somehow always manages a reference to "drinking the Kool-Aid"?

BTW: please do not notice that Kim did her 350 today in half the time it took me. Went to Krav after with Jason and Kim afterward: we were tippie-toeing across the mat with these maxed out quads during the warm-up run (except Jason and Kim, so I guess that means only I was). Quads somewhat back to normal now.

61 done + WOD 500 Squats
Why 500 you ask? Because one of our cult leaders said "normally it's 500 not 350" and I know that Jason A, Steven and Moose did 500 so I didn't want to be left out. See everyone as soon as I get over this bout of Rhabdomyolysis.

61 done with pain thanks to pushing 75 poods 147 times. why the hell are you guys doing 500 for? if our cult leader told you guys to jump off a bridge...? look at what doing to us cult leader. i'm off to do 500. why you ask...don't know just seems right for some reason... must do 500 must do 500... damn you cult leader j
