WOD October 28, 2008


Shoulder Press

+76 pushups :)
Remember to move your head around the bar, not the bar around your head. Know what I mean? The bar travels vertically straight as you pull your neck back (so you don't give yourself a nose job).
So here's the busdriver story:
I'm riding the bus along 5th avenue, heading downtown to do a little shopping with my mom at Saks. Apparently, a cab has pulled over in the "buses only" lane, and is blocking our bus from passing. The busdriver (who bears a strong resemblance to Sug Knight, minus the 3 carat diamond studs in his ears) honks the horn; the cabbie wittily replies with an all-American gesture (you know the one). The busdriver opens the door and yells out "I KNOW you wouldn't be doing that if I was not on this bus!" The cabbie moved his car. Quickly.
Betcha the busdriver can't do Murph though.

well i made half way through the wod then i sprained my ankle then fell to the ground.the medical staff crossfit 360 kick's ass!!! before i knew it i had jason and peter both working on me.jason with his soft and gentle hands and peter with his wisdom. (sorry about slowing down your work out peter). but 2 thunbs up..way up for the doctors on duty!!!

Joey's right: it's 75 - Dr. Jenn's just trying to see who's gonna cheat (by doing more pushups? Hmm ... I'm confused).

Sorry I missed 5:30 Vicky! My clocks are ALL confused: what the heck time IS it anyway???? But I saw that you put up some weight this morning: I knew you could do it!! :-)

I stood up Christine last night ("she hate me"), thought I could beg to take her (which sounds so much nicer than "beg to let me do her") if I got there really early (can't just be doing any old WOD during Rx'd class times! Duh!!). It was 10:15, and the doors were locked.

Panic! What if things work out like with Cindy and Helen (who are still waiting for "us" to "make-up")? Think fast. Why not a regulation warmup? Good thinking, moose! Used the railing on the ramp at the building behind the bank for dips and pullups, ran an extra 200 meters (bored), and knocked out my 75 pushups. Finally, did my squats, hands up, facing close against the outside wall in front (prevents leaning too far forward), so a passerby gave me a strange look and a wide berth: must have looked like I was worshiping the building. I know: more fodder for the cult rumors.

Happy with my deadlifts today (only because its something that Kim hasn't trounced me on ... yet!) Um ... who's in the "encounter" photo Joey?

I'm sorry to be burning up the boards today (but then, hey, you didn't have to hear from me last weekend!). Lil Stephanie emailed me the link to signup for the 2008 PAC-10 Fitness Challenge! Basically, you just log in your total daily workout minutes from 10-27 thru 10-31, then we see which school is the "fittest"!

Steph and I are UCLA BRUINS(!!!!). You don't have to be an alumus/alumna: you can signup as a supporter! With all of this CrossFit going on, I figured you guys might want to lend your support by logging your minutes (WA State supporters are currently burning this thing up!). Sign up if you can ... and you can!!! Now I'll shutup.

75 pushups done. Weirdly, if I crank them out early in the day, we go sick on the pushups in Krav and if I wait for them, it usually goes the way psychotic ab sets in class. It seems the universe never really aligns. But on the plus side, I'm doing a hell of a lot of pushups.

word verification today: Dochi. I'm almost certain that is either a Japanese candy treat or a Pokemon.
