WOD October 9, 2008

5 Rounds for time:
7 muscle-ups
21 burpees
Can't do a muscle up? No worries. Substitute 3 pullups and 3 dips for every one muscle up. This means you're doing 21 pullups and 21 dips each round. Talk about an incentive to be able to do muscle ups... But hey- pullups and dips are the best way to get there.
We're at 56 pushups today, my friends. Tell you what. If you complete this bear, you get a pass on the pushups. This offer is good for today ONLY- no making it up on Saturday and trying to miss out on the 58 pushups (man, some people will do anything to get out of as many pushups as they can!) Why am I doing this? Because this is a benevolent dictatorship.... :)

Muscle ups? MAN, THAT'S A CHALLENGE! I got through the first round doing muscle ups on the rings. Second round, I went to the bar (um, pull-up bar: too early for drinkin'), then my poor ego made a deal with my palms: "If I put gloves on you guys, will you promise to keep going so I don't have to feel like a dork?" They agreed.

Something about 5:30 a.m., though, doesn't work well with burpees. Guess I need to get up earlier.

Did 56 anyway when I got home -- just as an ego builder after the rings kicked my butt.

When I saw burpees on the WOD, I knew it was going to be BRUTAL and I was right!! Didn't even try the muscle ups, have to get stronger. Might try going to the park with Becky and doing the rings and monkey bars--could only help, right? Did 56 as well, darn you Mustafa!

Sorry about missing class today, the shoulders said no way!! Went to Krav to get beat up instead.

Great effort today! Don't forget to keep working on those muscle ups. The skills day is a great day to work on something like that. Don't fear the rings!

Good job guys! Way to push yourselves. We didn't have anyone doing muscle ups so all the times were with pullups and dips.
