WOD October 23, 2008


This one doesn't have a name, but I'm sure you'll think of some colorful ideas while you're doing it...
For Time:
10 rounds
12 pullups
12 burpees
Double up on the pullups if you are doing jumpers or assisted with one of the thick bands. Seriously.
70 pushups! Can you believe how time has flown? 100 will be here before you know it! Make sure you write down your size for the T-shirt.
In this pic, Deanna demonstrates dips (nice depth!) and Lily demonstrates... sitting. What's up with that?

I think we should start naming exercises after mixed drinks or beers......like Adios MF'r, Jager Bomb, Sam Adams, Yuengling, Jack Hammer, etc.......and then we could have the drink of the day "DOD" afterward.......I know I wouldn't miss any classes......and Ben would have an excuse for hurling in the bushes. HA!

Nice idea about the alcohol-themed names Kev. Personally, I was thinking this particular workout should be named after some third world dictator (due to the amount of misery that it causes). Chairman Mao might be good. Ahmadinejad is too hard to pronounce. Funny side note = Ahmadinejad actually has his own blog. I just found it when I googled to make sure I was spelling his name right.

I think it should be called "The Hand Shredder"... I got 4 new rips and a blood blister from this enjoyable combo today! Nobody wants to high-5 me anymore...
Ah well, I'll just wipe my seeping hands on all the peeps at Krav this afternoon :)

WOD a workout! I posted the picture before completing the WOD: should have listened to myself. Kimmie: I thought my near religious experience with pullups a month ago was a warning to everyone: lots of pullups = use handtape or gloves -- or both! Did the WOD at home today (after regulation warm up) with my "tower of power" (one of those pullupy, crunchy, dippy, pushupy things like the one by the dip stations). Can't kip on the darned thing, so Pl-U's suck more than usual. Dripped sweat all over the carpet and the cat. But I got it done in 19:13. :-D That's respectable! >:-(

Off to Krav now (like my idol Kim!).

70 done. Brutal WOD!!! Kim, I saw those hands, glad you were in the other group :) Crossfit is like giving birth--you dread going into labor, you suffer thru it, sweating, in pain, feel like barfing, you are exhausted and relieved when it's done, and once you recover you feel like, Yes! I could do this again, and hopefully do better.

Interesting WOD. I've never enjoyed the taste of post-workout water more in my life, which I'm going to count as a good thing. Expand your horizons, new sensations and whatnot. Who's with me?

I like the dictator theme Dr. J.....but after doing it tonight I'm not sure there has ever been a dictator mean enough for this one....and it's just two exercises!! I think Robert may have had it right the first time......WTF.
